How to keep your windshield free of frost
The winter can cause hazardous conditions for driving. The ice and snow road can be treacherous. But even when the roads are clear, the descents in the night temperature can cause your windshield to be covered with frost. Driving with a frosty windshield is unsafe as the vision dims. If you have a garage, park your car indoors to protect your windshield against frost.
But many of us do not afford the luxury of a garage. So winter mornings often mean spending a few extra minutes in the cold to clean the windshield or get into the car with the defroster on, waiting for the engine to warm up enough to melt the frost. This method consumes time and fuel. Try a different method to prevent the frostiness of your windshield and save gas.
Instructions
- Fill a spray bottle with three quarts of vinegar.
- Add water to fill the missing room of the bottle.
- Spray the windshield with the mix when you parked the car at night. The mixture will prevent frost from forming on the windshield.
- Lift and spray the windscreen wipers to prevent them from freezing on the windshield.
Covers the windshield
- Measure the windshield and cut a cardboard box that fits your size. Use tape to glue two sections of cardboard, in order to make a cover large enough to cover the windshield.
- Turn on the car and the windshield wipers, stopping them halfway up the windshield.
- Place the carton on the windshield, using the windshield wipers to hold them in place. The carton will prevent frost from forming on the windshield.
